STRUM, STRIKE, BLOW CONCERT

Well it was a HUGE day on Wednesday, and we enjoyed it all!

We spent the first half of the day at Christchurch Arena, had some lunch and headed to the  Botanical Gardens to burn off a bit of energy in the sunshine. We then made our way around the Canterbury Museum in groups, taking part in a scavenger hunt before ending up in the Discovery Centre. The children took great delight in showing me the tarantulas, putting on puppet shows, taking a close look at the beetles under the microscope and identifying some disgusting things preserved in jars.

After a dinner at McDonalds, it was time to head back to the arena for the concert. The children were all keen to spot people they knew and waved out eagerly, before getting stuck into the ukulele tunes.

It is timely to say a massive thank you to Pam Aldersley for sharing her ukulele expertise with our year 3-6 students and organising our concert songs, practises and concert registration. Let’s do it all again next year!
