Each year Springfield School provides a skiing programme for all children at Porters Ski Field. 

The Springfield School ski programme has been operating for over twenty years. 

It was developed because of our proximity to local ski fields and to give our students the unique opportunity to develop a range of skills in a sport that has direct and important links to our local environment.

Many of our students have continued skiing after leaving our school and some have reached competitive levels in the sport.

We have been lucky enough to fund the school ski programme through a reciprocal agreement with Porters Skifield where parents work together to provide firewood for the lodge and associated accommodations and in turn our students receive a series of ski lessons.

The school ski programme is compulsory for all students.  School will be where the students are.
